Keon Stewart, PhD, LPC-S
Mental Health Therapist - Oxford, MS
Hi, I'm Keon! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oxford, Mississippi.
I believe that your story is unlike anyone else's, and that matters. My work is centered on understanding your unique, lived experience and how it shapes your overall wellness. I have also had the privilege of supporting high-performing individuals in competitive environments. While I bring comprehensive clinical skills to each session, my deepest passion is helping people build genuine self-compassion and lasting resilience.
My therapeutic orientation is rooted in the core principles of Adlerian therapy — an Individual Psychology philosophy that views each person as capable, purposeful, and deserving of dignity. Within that relational foundation, I draw on cognitive, behavioral, and solution-focused strategies to support meaningful growth. I'm not here to have all the answers — I'm here to think through them with you.
I offer in-person therapy to the Oxford area community, and provide Telehealth services across Mississippi. My focus is to help teens, college students, adults, athletes, medical professionals, and first responders build genuine self-compassion and lasting resilience. No matter where you're coming from, I'm here to meet you there.
Growing up in rural south Mississippi, I watched my grandmother offer something that felt almost effortless to her but took me years to fully understand — the kind of steady, unconditional compassion that makes people feel safe enough to be honest. Watching her always provide a caring space for those who were hurting laid the foundation for my life's work and ultimately guided me into the counseling profession. My practice is built on the values she instilled in me: warmth, compassion, and patience.
I understand that reaching out for support can sometimes feel more overwhelming than the problem itself. Whether you're managing high-stakes pressure, navigating a life transition, or simply ready to understand yourself better, I'm here to think it through with you. Take the time that you need — I'm here when you're ready.
Outside of the office, I'm a former art school kid and avid sports fan — someone who has always lived at the intersection of raw human emotion and creative passion. Those who get it, get it.
At Kaizen Counseling, we believe growth happens through steady progress — small steps that build meaningful and lasting change.

how can I help?
I work with individuals and families facing a range of common mental health and life challenges. Many of my clients come to therapy because they are experiencing:
Anxiety & Stress
Anxiety can show up as constant worry, overthinking, tension, or feeling on edge. Therapy can help you understand the patterns behind anxiety and develop practical ways to manage stress and regain a sense of calm.
Depression
Depression often brings feelings of discouragement, low motivation, or emotional heaviness. Together we can explore the factors contributing to these experiences and develop strategies that help you reconnect with meaning and momentum in your life.
Identity Development
Questions about who you are, who you're becoming, or the weight of unrealistic expectations are all meaningful and worthy of exploration.
Personal Performance & Barriers
High performance comes with unique pressures. I offer support and effective skills for athletes, medical professionals, and first responders facing high-stakes demands, performance challenges, burnout, and the mental side of high-performance demand.
Trauma Support
I provide a safe and structured environment to process past trauma, build coping skills, and regain a sense of safety and empowerment.
Substance Use
I provide a non-judgmental space to explore patterns of substance use and build healthier coping strategies at whatever stage you're in.
Adjustment & Life Transitions
Major life changes—career shifts, relationship changes, relocation, or entering new stages of life—can create uncertainty and stress. Therapy provides a space to process these changes and develop clarity about what comes next.
Personal Growth & Self-Understanding
Many clients seek therapy not only during difficult periods, but also as a way to better understand themselves, their values, and their goals.
